iPhone on Verizon
It’s really true…the news about the iPhone on Verizon is out. Verizon is now able to carry the iPhone 4 on their network! The iPhone 4g launch is February 10, 2011. And if you are already a Verizon customer with upgrading capabilities, you can pre-order your iPhone on Verizon early beginning February 3, 2011.
The Apple iPhone 4 device has gotten great reviews since the new 4g iPhone release date in the summer, such as the best technology in the mobile phone market today. It is reported to have a user-friendly interface unlike the Droid that is not so touch functionality friendly. The iPhone 4 is a slim device with a touch that is comfortable. Here are the dimensions:
Size and Weight
- Height: 4.5 inches (115.2 mm)
- Width: 2.31 inches (58.6 mm)
- Depth: 0.37 inches (9.3 mm)
- Weight: 48 ounces (137 grams)
The iPhone on Verizon has been redesigned so that the serious antenna issues that have been reported with the previous version have been corrected.
No Need For Laptop?
You really won’t need a laptop if you have an iPhone 4 device. The iPhone 4 has the capability of faxing, editing Excel & Word documents and printing.
Battery Life
The battery life of the iPhone 4 is outstanding since you can go 24 hours without charging the device under normal use of the phone.
Apps
It has been reported that you can download apps with a mere tap. One user wrote in reference to way the iPhone 4 reacts to your touch is almost like it responds to your thoughts. And by the way, many apps are free. Here is a list of recommended apps to consider:
- Dropbox (View the files that are synced with your computer from anywhere.)
- DropText (View and create plaintext notes that instantly sync with your computer.)
- iBooks (The best way to read books – the selection is growing every day.)
- Galcon (Über-addictive Real-Time Strategy game.)
- Google Earth (It’s just cool, what can I say?)
- Flashcards Deluxe (Highly customizable study tool.)
- NanoStudio (Mobile Digital Audio Workstaion! Sounds amazing.)
- MobileMe iDisk (MobileMe is way overpriced, but if you use it this app will make your experience better.)
- Angry Birds (Everybody seems to love this game for some reason. So you should buy it, I guess?)
- Archetype (If you like First-Person Shooter games this is for you!)
- Pandora Radio (nice for users on an unlimited data plan – streaming net radio anywhere, customized to your tastes!)
- The Apple Store App (This was just recently introduced. It is basically a way of optimizing your Apple Store experience. Recommended if you prefer shopping through retail to shopping online.)
In addition to all this, the iPhone 4 has a GPS, 2 video cameras, flash for 5mp camera, Bluetooth, 2 mics with noise suppression. One user’s review stated the screen is crystal clear and of tremendously high quality.
The overall conclusion is people like Apple’s iPhone 4 version. It’s a web browser, iPod, phone, alarm clock… all-in-one device.
16 gb iPhone 4 vs 32 gb
If you are trying to decide which size iPhone 4 to purchase, calculating the sum of photos you have, music and videos and how much room you need for the apps should give you an idea of which to buy. The 32gb version is roughly $100 more.
Verizon’s cost with a required 2 year agreement is $199.99 for the 16gb model and $299.99 for the 32gb.
(If you want the iPhone on Verizon without a contract, at a unknown later date it will be available for $649.99 16 gb and $749.00 for the 32 gb).
